Geological Exploration, Landslide Characterization and Susceptibility Mapping at the Boundary between Two Crystalline Bodies in Jajarkot, Nepal

The geology of the Himalayas is intricated and intriguing. It features numerous tectonic bodies structures too complex to interpret. Along with such mysteries it has many common geohazards, as landslides. In this study, a detailed geological investigation carried out overcome discrepancies in structural interpretation, nature two crystalline bodies, non-uniformity mapping central Himalayan arc, Jajarkot district Nepal. exploration landslide characterization area, consequent susceptibility performed considering 13 causative factors related geology, topography, land use, hydrology, anthropogenic factor, using bivariate statistical models. This study concludes that metamorphic area are most probably klippen, due absence or erosion root zone. field revealed haphazard road excavation without consideration geotechnical caused shallow results obtained from maps, varying range zones, good agreement spatial distribution pre-historic modeling validated by calculating density plotting under curves (AUC). AUC value for WOE, FR method, an overall success rate 79.42% 77.62%, respectively.
